Read the text below carefully. After that, answer the following questions.The Battle of Kotabaru       The battle of Kotabaru happened in Yogyakarta in 1945. On October 5, 1945, the leader of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX announced that Yogyakarta was a part of the Republic of Indonesia. This decision caused the people in Yogyakarta wanted the Japanese troops who were still in Yogyakarta to be disarmed. On October 6 at about 5 p.m, Indonesian representatives held a negotiation with Japan in Yogyakarta. Indonesian people wanted the Japanese troops to disarm their weapons and gave them to the Yogyakarta’s leader. Major Otzuka, the representative of the Japanese troops, did not want to do it unless they had a letter of command from his supervissor to do it. The negotiation was not successful as the Indonesian representatives did not want to do it.       When the negotiation was happening, people were gathering in Kotabaru with their own arms to attack the Japanese troops if the negotiation failed. They waited for the result of the negotiation and was ready to attack. As the negotiation failed, they decided to assault the Japanese troops.       On October 7 at about 4 a.m. the people together with the People's Security Agency, and the special force assaulted the Japanese troops in Kota Baru. This battle lasted for approximately 6 hours. As the battle was worse, Indonesian representatives had a negotiation again with Japan. This time, Japan agreed to be disarmed. 21 people of Indonesian were killed and 27 of Japanese troops were killed on this battle.
